MANDOLIN & BANJO
Jerome Nettuno
From his early days, bluegrass captured his heart. At 9, he was recognized as a fiddle phenom, and learned to master all string instruments, from the guitar to the stand up bass. However, it was the mandolin that truly became an extension of his musical soul.
As a young man, he toured with various bands in the bluegrass and country music scene and was recognized for his talents as the co-writer of the 1999 IBMA Song of the Year “Three Rusty Nails” for Ronnie Bowman. His talent and enthusiasm on stage and ability to infuse traditional bluegrass with a contemporary flair made him a sought-after collaborator. Although he ended up running a SAAS company, he still considers music his passion and loves playing with and mentoring other musicians.
GUITAR & VOCALS
Shannon Slaughter
A 30 year veteran of professional bluegrass music, Shannon has released 7 albums under his own name in addition to filling the role of guitarist and vocalist in a number of bands – The Lonesome River Band, Lou Reid & Carolina and Grasstowne among them. He has written numerous top 10 songs including two songs that reached number one. Winner of the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting contest, Slaughter prides himself in his original music and lyrical guitar playing and is excited to bring his talents to GPhlatt.
UPRIGHT BASS
Anthony Nettuno
The (self-proclaimed) best bass player to ever touch the 4-stringed instrument; Anthony has the largest instrument in the band and Lord does he know how to use it. He regularly plays to HUGE fanfare at his church. Anthony has performed with some of the finest bluegrass musicians including Dan Tyminski, Shannon Slaughter, and members of Blue Highway.
KEYS & VOCALS
Grayson Lane
Grayson Lane is a multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter that loves to infuse his taste for RnB and jazz into the bluegrass genre. His style on the piano is something you don’t often experience in bluegrass, drawing inspiration from pianists like Bruce Hornsby, Robert Glasper, and Norah Jones. It’s his vocal ability, though, that has built him a social media presence of over 150k followers and garnered the attention of major artists such as Charlie Puth, Meghan Trainor, JoJo, SWV, Tyrese, and more. Since being discovered by Alison Krauss and signing a publishing deal in Nashville with Big Yellow Dog in 2021, he’s been writing in the studio with his brother, Garrett, for their debut project, which is being produced by 2 time GRAMMY award-winner Daniel Tashian and Sam Bergeson.
VOCALS
Garrett Lane
Singer/songwriter Garrett Lane is an amazing vocalist that has a knack for gluing everything together with his harmonies. He draws most of his inspiration from RnB acts such as Boyz II Men, Brian Mcknight, and Tank, but also has a love and appreciation for old country (Keith Whitley, Ronnie Milsap). This makes for a unique take on singing and writing songs. Garrett signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog in 2023 and has been writing in the studio for brother duo Lane Brothers since. He has gotten attention from major artists such as Boyz II Men, Tank, Brian Mcknight Jr, Cory Asbury, Joe Jonas, Parker McCollum, and more. He has recently been working with 5 time GRAMMY award-winner Damon Thomas.
